Shirley's book, "The Ahwahnee", is one of her best, but unfortunately is not listed by Amazon.  Perhaps you can find it by special search or in a library.
This book describes the beautiful Yosemite hotel, its designer Underwood, its builders and those who've cared for it through the years.  Did you know that the U.S. Navy took over the Ahwahnee during World War II and used it as a hospital?  Shirley answers most every question one could raise about this world-class hotel found right on the grounds of Yosemite.  If you've ever visited the hotel, this book will bring back strong memories.
