Netscape Mail 4.x

Open Netscape.
Select Communicator > Messenger from the menu at the top of the screen.
The Mail & Newsgroups window will appear. Select Edit > Preferences from the menu at the top of the screen.
The Preferences window will appear on the screen. Click on Mail Servers in the white Category pane on the left side of the window.
The Outgoing Mail Server pane should appear on the right below Incoming Mail Servers. In the field labeled Outgoing mail server user name:, enter the user name for your email account. On the next line below this, make sure the circle next to the word Never is selected and click OK.
