The board members of KAPRA met on April 10, 2009, at 4:00 p.m. at the home of Mr. Larry Miller. Those members in attendance included Wade Lively (chairman), Vic White, Larry Miller, and John Allen. Member Lori Pannell was absent. Those visiting included Jack Wallace, Ray Modert, and Gail Digman. Bonnie Kraemer acted as secretary. The minutes were approved as recorded by John Allen, seconded by Vic White.

Agenda items were as follows:

I. Old Business

a. John Allen reported that he needed a one inch coupler to finish the last runway light. Completing that last light should be accomplished shortly.

b. Aspects of Precision Approach lighting were discussed. KAPRA members are actively working to install these special lights. It was also recommended that future NOTAMs should include the phrase “Non-standard experimental VASI” lighting.

c. Weed control will soon be sprayed along the runway/taxiways by John Allen and other volunteers

II. New Business

a. A KAPRA Barbeque was proposed for July. The event could be held in John Hall’s hangar/area. Proposed dates were July 4^th or 18^th. Inviting other regional flyers was also suggested. Vic White is looking into the possibility of having the Randolph Flight Safety Officer speak at the event.

b. John Allen proposed that Judy Wallace be appointed to serve as a KAPRA representative on the ACC. The motion was seconded by Larry Miller. Judy will serve in the expired slot previously held by Ray Modert. Her term will expire August 15, 2010.

c. An approval to pay Ray Modert $300 to cut the grass near the runway/taxiways as needed.

d. Informal discussion was held concerning future resurfacing of the taxiway and runway.

The next KAPRA board meeting will be Saturday, June 27^th at 11:30 a.m. at the home of Wade Lively.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:45 p.m.
