Big Flood of 2002
Canyon Lake, Texas

(Woodlands)
Canyon Lake Country Club
and Golf Course

------
Comal Park

Unless you're really familiar with this area, you won't be particularly impressed most likely. All those dark places in the lake
are tree tops... the tops of mature oak trees and such... much of what you see in the foreground is covering the golf course.
Comal Park is buried under water off that point to the left.

In the parking lot of the country club, looking out over the 'green' at some boaters touring the damage.
The water is actually lapping up against that little stone wall. Most of the parking lot was showing signs of debris...
it's possible that it was under water earlier in the day as well.

A close-up of the ball-cleaning gizmo.

Here's the pool in the back of the country club. We were here just a few weeks ago for a birthday party.

This is a close up of the sign hanging by the gate to the pool area. I think we can understand part of the reasoning behind #3.

Here's a bush by the pool overlooking the 'green'. If you ignore the flood part, it could make a nice picture.

The back of the country club, and that same boat from earlier. Just a guess here, but I think it would be safe
to assume that some water may have entered the first floor back here. Ugh. What a mess.

Driving around the golf course towards Comal Park, we spotted this palm tree out in the water.

This was in front of one of the houses that was having water problems. Normally it's on the green, FAR from the lake.
Now, the lake is literally on the back doorstep.

Can't really see it here, but this golf cart is stranded on this tiny green island. There was a man fishing from the same island as well.

More of the 'green'. Sad.

This is the entrance to Comal Park. Usually you can't even see the water's edge from this point.

Same view, but closer. Looks like the water had gone over the road here as well.
