My first love is conformation but if I were a wee bit younger and a wee bit thinner, Agility would probably be where I spent my energy. I love watching the shear excitement of a good run and how much fun it is for both handler and dog not to mention the audience! My daughter Donna just took home a pup to start in Agility. Will keep you posted on Lockehill Homerun Derby "Vladdy" as he and Donna learn the sport together!

MACH 2 Lockehill Lady Elizabeth Bronte, "Ellie" Ch Stonerhaven Samurai x Lockehill Careless Love Chris sends news on Ellie's 2011 year; " Well, another years has past and our little girl had a great year. Ellie is a healthy happy sheltie who has improve in the Agility ring all year. The result of all our work is her getting her MACH 2 this past weekend. Yes that's right, Ellie's official name is now MACH 2 Lockehill Lady Elisabeth Bronte. In addition, she has consistently placed top 5, taking some 1st places along the way. We are very proud of her and are looking forward to this year." This is fabulous news! When Ellie was a wee baby, she was called "Peanut" because she was so small. She is a litter sister to Sabrina, who is just oversize. Ellie was not able to compete for dinner with her littermates and began to fade. She needed some intensive care so she joined Summer's younger litter at the Hemenway's home and thrived with the younger less agressive pups and with Dan's watchful support. I do not know what I would have done without Dan Hemenway who is the best nurse on the planet! |
MACH Lockehill Lady Elizabeth Bronte,"Ellie" Ch Stonerhaven Samurai x Lockehill Careless Love Ellie is a small sheltie, perfect for agility. Sondra and Chris Schaible tell me that Ellie is competing in agility and steeplechase and is enjoying the fun. Ellie has her Starters, Gamblers, and Snookers titles in USDAA October 2009 and Ellie is still knocking them dead, taking many more first place wins. Ellie now has her first 11 points toward her MACH. Way to go Chris and Ellie. It was published June 2010 that Ellie obtained her MXJ title and she is still racking up those DQ,s! October 2010, Ellie has qualified for the Sheltie Nationals and will be competing there. She is closing in on her MACH and looks to be the first MACH for Lockehill. I am so proud of Sondra and Chris to take their first agility dog all the way. Ellie and Chris did it! she is now a MACH !

Lockehill Casanova Cowboy Ch Prairie Chosen Legacy x Lockehill Careless Love Jacob has just started training in Agility with his new owners JR & Linda Minazzi. He can be seen on my puppy page with his sister Jolene. A stunning pup, he was supposed to be a conformation champion but the size limit got him. My loss is the Minazzi's gain. I am delighted they chose to go into Agility with him and will be following his progress and posting it here. Jacob like Ellie below are Lovey kids. He will have to buckle down and learn those jumps well to catch his sister Ellie! Linda Minazzi told me she is finally worked up the courage to start competition with Jacob in March 2012. Just got word from Lee Ann Viktorn that her Lockehill Southern Charm "Dixie" is also starting agility and has won her first class at her first show. Way to go Lee Ann and Dixie. |

(USDDA) PS1,PJ1, PK1, PD1 (NADAC) O-OAC,O-OCC, OJC, O-TN-O, O-TG-O, O-WV-O BIS Am/Can/JCC Ch Barkley's SS Pajero Junior x Lockehill Careless Lucinda Chief and his owner, Diana Gregory, have been learning the sport of agility together. You can see from his string of titles and the smile on his face, he is enjoying "getting the job done". Diana has done wonders with this energetic little boy and he has numerious first place wins under his belt. His small stature and terrific attitude make this team a pair to be reconded with. Watch for Diana and Chief competing in AKC, USDAA, and NADAC venues across Texas. |

Lockehill Atwater Alliance AX, AXJ, NF "Shane" Am/Can Ch Atwater Kismet Ardon,OA,AXJ x Lockehill Careless Obsession
Shane is truly a remarkable Agility dog. Bred by Dan and Allana Hemenway and myself, he started out in conformation winning six Specialty Major RWD and was pointed before going to Trish Millmore of Euro Dog Center to begin his Agility Career. Under his new owner Trish's guidance Shane had five straight first place wins before he took a rail for his first NQ. Shane was well on his way to MACH when he began crashing jumps and it was determined that his eyesight was not good...he is now retired.

Pandra's Kismet Kate, CD Katie was trained and ready for Open, my goal was three straight legs when a thougthless instructor Proofed her and she began to refuse for fear of failure. I could never get her confidence back. Katie flamed the competition in my soul and began my sheltie addiction. |
