He died on 13 Jun 1844 in Grenada, Yalobusha, MS, USA. Hillary Hendricks
moved at an early age to Chatham County, NC and then to Wilkes County, Georgia
in 1784. (Elbert County was formed from Wilkes County, Georgia in 1790.) He
received land warrants in Wilkes County for 400 acres in 1788 and for 223 acres
in 1821. The Hendricks family lived on his farm that was slightly soutn of Elberton
on a place referred to in their deeds as "Falling Creek." He served
as a private in the Chatham County, North Carolina troups in Captain Joseph Stewart's
Calvary Company, Captain Charles Gholson's Company, Captain William Richardson's
Company, Captain William Cage's Company and in Colonel John Lutrell's Regiment.
He was first discharged shortly before the surrender of General Cornwallis. After
additional tours, he was finally discharged on 11 April 1782. He applied for
a pension on 2 October 1832 , at age 78, from Lawrence County, Alabama. His pension
was transferred from Huntsville, AL to Mississippi on 20 February 1841. George
